By Olson

ND gains 720 yards-597 by rushing. Irish Qb Joe Theismann only completes 3 passes-for 123 yds and 1 td(35 yds to Tom Gatewood). Theisman also has a 46 yd td run.

The leading Irish rusher on the day is backup QB Bill Etter who has a 79 yd td run among his team leading 140 yds in 11 carries. Etter had also been the leading rusher in the previous game too vs Tulane (81 yds)

FINAL #10 ND 47 NAVY 0

Notre Dame's 91 rushing attempts, 597 rushing yards (modern record), 720 total offensive yards and 10.2 total offensive yards per play vs. Navy in 1969 all rank first in Notre Dame history.

They had over 600 yards rushing against Drake in 1931. (Not sure why they don't consider that "modern".)
